Is it possible for a fallen people to achieve oneness and peaceful coexistence?
I, personally think so. Is it very probable at all? Is a reasonable possibility?
Not really, no.
But, in theory it is not impossible.
Example:
The story of the Tower of Babel. Genesis 11 tells how the entire world at one time was of the same speech and of one tongue, and how everyone all united together to build a great tower to heaven. However, God destroyed their ambitions and confused their langauge so that they could not achieve the goals they had set before themselves. God said, "Look! Because they take advantage of their common speech and abuse their unity by accomplishing this, nothing they imagine will be impossible for them!" Now, at this point it somewhat seems like God is anti-human unity and anti-cooperation. However, that is not the case. It is simply that God is opposed to people joining together for a goal that is self-centered.
So, again in theory, it could be possible for people to come together and live as one.
However, only when, as Christians, we are willing to care for the needy, poor, downtrodden, lost, and weary by embracing them in whatever filth, nakedness, sicknees, or pervertedness they currently live in to SHOW them the love of Yeshua, is this unity possible.
We can not simply live as moral people, telling whoever we happen to come in contact with about our faith.
We can not merely give when we have some extra cash or help when it's convenient for us.
We can not expect those who are lost to know any better unless we are there to show them a life that is better than their sin.
We can not look at the homeless, the drug-adicts, the starving, the poor, the naked and simply say what a shame their perdicament is. Jesus said, "For however you treast the least of those around you, so you have treated me."
We can not be comfortable.
We can not be too good to be with the low, the dirty, or the social lepers of our time.
We must SHOW the love of God, our Father, to those who do not know of His grace and mercy.
We can preach and share our faith and lecture and speak of what we believe until our throats bleed.
But until people can SEE our love for God by our love for them...
We are worthless.

//Stolen from Dannie's away message//
A worldwide survey was conducted by the UN.
The only question asked was:
"Would you please give your honest opinion about solutions to the food shortage in the rest of the world?"
The survey was a huge failure...
In Africa they didn't know what "food" meant. In Eastern Europe they didn't know what "honest" meant. In Western Europe they didn't know what "shortage" meant. In China they didn't know what "opinion" meant. In the Middle East they didn't know what "solution" meant. In South America they didn't know what "please" meant. And in the USA they didn't know what "the rest of the world" meant

We are all lepers here.

So...
I recently took a survey put out by a Christian political eduaction group that was supposed to target my political views as either "TRADITIONAL, CONSERVAIVE, and CHRISTIAN" or "LIBERAL, HUMANISTIC, and SECULAR"!!!!
Oh, and the rating system for this quiz was a scale from -100 to 100... guess which side the negative side referred to?
Yup. Liberal. And the higher score referred to the "Christian" views.
Since when are conservative and Christian synonymous?
I've also been reading a book lately called "The Left Hand of God - Taking Back Our Country from the Religious Right"
It says that the major increase in the association between the Christian church and the right wing is that it most greatly identifies with a spiritual need that the left often forsakes... not because the republican party's platforms most closely match Christian worldviews.
So...
I ask you...
What exactly are biblical politics? | | |

So many Christians are soooo oblivious to their own professions of faith.
It's no wonder that the world at large thinks that Christians are ignorant, intolerant, intolerant, and illogical.
Thousands--even millions--actually are. They give off the image of Christianity as dumb and blind faith that simply does not stand up against scrutiny.
When a large majority of Christian's beliefs are challenged to the contrary of what they've always been taught, they can do nothing to combat the onslaught of the world's skepticism.
It makes me sick that the world that we are all supposed to be bright and shining lights to gets the idea (not unrightfully so, sometimes) that those who profess faith in Jesus Christ do not know much more than what they have been taught in Sunday School when they were 9.
I'm not saying that anyone has to have all the answers. That's not possible and would be completely asinine for anyone to expect of any one person. I'm not saying that everyone has to go to Bible college and be a theologian.
However, from the Bible, we are commanded to be able to answer the questions of those who inquire about our faith (First Peter 3:15).
Kids... know what you believe and why you believe it. Don't just blindly believe whatever you want to believe or whatever you've always been taught.
Ask questions. Research. Talk to people smarter than you. Read books. Demand to know "Why!?".
Godspeed.

I believe that homosexuals should have the right to be recognized by the government as a married couple.
I beleive that is within their constitutional rights as Americans.
Do I think being gay is "ok" or "amoral"? No, not so much.
I thin it's a sinful lifestyle (but then again, which one of us can say that we do not too live a sinful lifestyle?).
But, that is based solely off of the influence of my personal, Christian beliefs.
And such beliefs should not be endorsed by a government system which, in its constitution, states "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion"
That means seperation of church and state.
And that the government should not impose beliefs or morals which are justified by religious reasoning.
"But the Bible says not to murder too, Drew. Should we get rid of that law?" (I was actually asked this one time)
Of course not. Know why? Because that, somewhat, prevents the harm of bystanding people.
Two men being married does not physically harm anyone.
And besides, murder is something that is felt to be generally wrong by most people of many different religous and cultural beliefs.
That's just common sense, really...
What do you think?
